New Year, Same Fitness Goals?

Breaking Through New Year's Goals with Instant Gratification

I hope you did not break any of your New Year’s eve resolutions, if you have some.

So after more than one month of coughing, I could finally go to the gym today. It felt amazing.

There were a lot of people, the gym was crowded.

Of course it is January.

It looks like every New Year's Eve, many people set similar goals.

They plan to lose weight, get fit, and keep up with their exercise plans.

However, by February, most of them have sadly stopped following these fitness goals.

So, how can one stay motivated? Recent studies suggest that the key is instant gratification.

Instant gratification often stops people from sticking to their exercise and diet plans.

Working out and eating right need discipline and patience because results aren't immediate.

It's faster and easier to feel good from a candy bar or scrolling through Instagram than from a workout. People want the quick fix.

In a world where everything has to be quick and easy, exercising can feel tough.

It's tempting to choose the TV over the gym.

Research suggests that feedback helps people stick to their workouts.

Participants who got regular updates on their progress did much better than those who didn't.

Try to use a fitness tracker or an app to monitor your progress, or setting daily goals can give you that instant boost.

But remember, the benefits of exercise are more than just quick rewards.

Regular exercise reduces stress, improves sleep, strengthens your heart, helps maintain weight, keeps you young and boosts your mood with endorphins.

We need a lot more endorphins in winter, as we don’t see the sun that often right now.

In our fast-paced world, we want quick fixes all the time.

Fast Food

Fast Fashion

Fast Gains

But that’s not how it works.

Of course it is easy to feel discouraged when things take time. It’s the same for me as well. We all do!!

But by embracing instant gratification in a good way and by staying persistent we can achieve great results.

I’m not here for the quick fix in my fitness journey. It is a lifestyle. I’m here to do this forever! To stay young, healthy, fit and to live a life full of energy.

Over time, exercise becomes a fun habit, not a chore.

When I wasn’t allowed to go to the gym the last couple of weeks, I really missed it and was counting the days until I could.

Healthy habits take time to build, but they're so worth it for your wellbeing and happiness.

Stay consistent, and soon you'll see and feel the difference.

Keep going, the results are rewarding, and you might even start loving exercise!

If you have any difficulties maintaining a health or workout routine, or if you don't know where to start, let me know.

I am here to help.

Have a nice day,

Katrin
