Lessons from Greece on Embracing Life's Simple Pleasures

Hello & welcome to another story of a Cup of Coffee for your Soul

Being in Greece for a while, I noticed something important.

People here, especially in the southern countries, have a way of living that we could learn from.

They enjoy life to the fullest, celebrating whenever they can. They savor real food, even if they smoke and drink, they are still happy and healthy.

They spend a lot of time outdoors, socializing and simply appreciating life. They sit on porches, enjoying the view and eating seasonal, fresh food.

Olive oil is a big part of their diet, as well as goat and sheep milk products like Feta cheese, which are healthier than cow products. They live life slowly.

For them, a good, long life is a slow life. They take their time, especially during activities like drinking coffee.

In Greece, having coffee is about relaxing, clearing your mind, and slowing down. The same goes for their way of enjoying food and drinks.

They take their time, have small talk, and enjoy each other’s company without any rush. This made me realize how different my life is back home.

I'm usually in a hurry, jumping from one goal to the next, always seeking the next solution, workout, or meal.

Our society is stressed, and many of us don’t know how to calm down. Even though I try to change this in my daily life, experiencing the slow pace in Greece or Italy always amazes me.

It’s a reminder that there’s a better way to live, one that values the simple, unhurried moments.

Take some time today to enjoy something and really take your time for it. Savor the moment.

Have a nice day,

Katrin
